Choosing the Outdoor Caledonia Wedding Ceremony Site

Above all, Erin and Brianne wanted to make sure their guests felt comfortable and had an amazing, fun time at their private property wedding. They cared more about keeping friends and family relaxed versus having a formal affair.

That was one of the bigger decisions behind choosing their outdoor wedding ceremony site in Caledonia.

The couple worked with their family friends to prepare the wedding site on their private estate. Erin and Bri’s friends worked for months to make sure everything was ready to go for the big day!

And to make sure everyone was covered, the couple opted for a clear-top tent to come in and create the perfect reception site for them.

The Vision for Erin and Brianne’s Outdoor Wedding

This sweet couple did the bulk of the planning for their outdoor tented wedding in Caledonia. But they knew they wanted to be present on the day of. So they enlisted the help of Lindsay Plank Events for event management with their private property tented wedding!

Bringing Their Wedding Vision to Life Through Event Management

When we first spoke, Erin and Brianne were clear that they wanted to prioritize a relaxed, fun-filled environment for everyone. My team and I made sure to create a timeline that always took their vision into account, like ensuring we had a post ceremony drink ready to “cheers” as soon as they walked out from their processional with their wedding party and family!

I stepped in around 8 weeks before the big day. Immediately, I began structuring their wedding-day timeline so that my team was well-prepared for their day. The timeline is one of the biggest secrets to having a successful event that goes off without a hitch. It ensures vendors can execute any couple’s special day!

From there, I confirmed the details that Erin and Bri put together up until that point. With everything checked off for the logistics of the wedding, including communicating with vendors, finalizing their contracts, and even sourcing Evyrose Design to help curate their floral design plan of burgundy and moody floral palette, their day was ready to go!

The Personal Details That Made Their Wedding Day Their’s

One of the most special details of Erin and Bri’s wedding was including Bri’s grandmother as their officiant. So having her as an LGBTQ+ officiant for their day brought so much joy to both of them!

The couple also opted to leave notes at each place setting explaining a $25 donation was made to Childhood Cancer Canada in place of favours for each guest that attended Bri & Erin’s wedding. These were done in memory of Bri’s niece, who passed away due to cancer earlier in the year.

And, of course, Erin and Bri wanted to surprise their guests with more fun and excitement! We stationed sparklers at the tented reception so guests could enjoy them along with a firework display at the end of the night.

These small, personal details are some of the most incredible parts of a wedding day, as they truly tell the story of the couple!

Overcoming Mother Nature’s Wedding Day Challenges

All wedding days come with their own set of challenges. The beauty of investing in a wedding planner or an event management team is that you can relax knowing that most obstacles are handled without you ever having to worry about them!

Erin and Bri’s wedding day had its own set of unique challenges that required a few key decisions. Just before the outdoor ceremony, the Caledonia area was struck with tornado-like winds and rain storms!

My team and the couple had to weigh the decision of moving the ceremony and first look indoors as the weather came through. Ultimately, Erin and Bri decided to stick with our well-structured timeline and event plan. Just before their first look took place, the skies cleared which allowed their first look and wedding ceremony to happen outside – and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

My Favourite Part of Erin and Brianne’s Outdoor Tented Wedding Day

The most magical part of their wedding day had to be the first look! When Erin and Brianne saw each other for the first time, you could see their love for one another all over their faces. It’s enough to melt your heart!

And I truly believe that one of the reasons why Erin and Brianne were able to have such an exciting moment together was because they put their trust in me and my team from the very beginning. That gave them the confidence and the opportunity to be fully present on their wedding day and enjoy each other!
