NIAGARA VINEYARD WEDDING: DUSTY BLUE EDITORIAL SESSION
As seen on Confetti Wed Magazine
Life is slowly returning closer to “normal” here in Niagara. And I thought what better way to stretch my creativity and wedding planning than through a styled shoot!
I am so excited to share with you more about the session! Read on for more about the mood I decided on, the colour palette I pulled together, and the amazing wedding vendors that all helped bring it to fruition.
Deciding the Editorial Session Mood
Before planning anything else, I needed to set the mood for this editorial session. Once the mood was set, then everything else could fall into place.
The same goes for planning your own Niagara wedding! Every other decision, such as choosing your location, deciding on colours, and planning for details, comes after setting the mood you want your wedding day to evoke.
For this, I wanted the styled shoot to give a romantic, timeless aesthetic. Once I determined that, I was able to choose a location and a colour palette that would complement the ambiance.
Settling on the Location for the Niagara Styled Session
Once the atmosphere of the styled shoot was set, I chose the location and the colours for it.
Gracewood Estates at Kurtz Orchard served as the perfect backdrop I was looking for. What’s more romantic and timeless than a Niagara vineyard wedding location? It’s a gorgeous outdoor wedding venue. And it’s impeccable for any bride who wants a similar look and feel as this styled session.
Luscious greenery served as natural archways and paths. And with the help of the bridal model, I could easily see a stunning bride and groom tying the knot on the Estates’ property.
Choosing the Colour Palette for the Niagara Vineyard Wedding Editorial Session
With the location decided, choosing the colour palette for the session was next on the list.
The dusty blues with pops of light yellow gave the soft, ethereal impression I was looking for. It matched the overall aesthetic of “romantic” and “timeless” perfectly. These colours aren’t as trendy as the more vibrant hues we’re seeing nowadays. In ten, fifteen, and even twenty years, I have no doubts the dusty blue colour palette will still look as classic as ever, instead of dated and outworn.
Setting Up the Details on the Day Of the Styled Session
Throughout the planning process, I collaborated with amazing wedding vendors around the Niagara area. Everyone worked together to make sure this styled session went off without a hitch.
On the day of, every single vendor came through. And we put together this stunning dusty blue vineyard wedding.
Evyrose Design created phenomenal floral arrangements. With those, we captured the essence of what a true Niagara wedding would look like. The neutral coloured bridal bouquet and the table centerpieces looked immaculate. They matched so perfectly with the overall dusty blue colour palette!
From the flatware for the tables from Simply Beautiful Decor down to the napkin folds, the tablescapes showcased how important every last detail is on the wedding day. Each detail was intentional and played a part in creating the romantic, timeless mood I originally envisioned.
My Favourite Part of the Niagara Vineyard Wedding Styled Session
The entire wedding planning process is always an incredible journey! But for this styled shoot, my favourite part was bringing all of the details to fruition.
The flat lays are especially important on your wedding day! Small, personal details like your grandmother’s brooch. Your wedding bands. Your stationery suite. Your bridal shoes. And even the wedding day perfume you chose. Those are the details that tie the mood of your wedding day into who you are as a person and as a couple. And those details, in the hustle and bustle of the wedding day, tend to be overlooked.
During this wedding editorial session, I spent extra time designing flat lays. All so you can envision how your own details can be captured on your Niagara wedding day!
This dusty blue Niagara vineyard wedding styled session was the perfect way to ease back into the wedding season.
