After you book Lindsay Plank Events, I’ll send you a detailed questionnaire clarifying the finer points of your wedding vision. The goal of this questionnaire is not only to give me a better understanding of your vision but also to give you a better understanding by asking you questions you may not have considered yet.
For example, do you want to sit at a sweetheart table with your spouse during dinner service, or do you prefer to sit at a head table with your wedding party? Do you prefer to sit with family? Do you want to give your wedding party the option of sitting with their families or SOs?
Answering questions like these in advance facilitates a seamless transition into the face-to-face meetings I’ll schedule at intervals throughout your engagement.
Understand and Align with Your Vision
Lindsay Plank Events’ goal throughout the wedding design process is to speak to your vision and ensure any decisions I make enhance—not take away—from your wants, needs, and preferences. This goal encompasses the recommendations I make for your vendor team! While you may have a friend or relative in the wedding industry, their style may not align with your vision.
Conversely, you can trust that I will only recommend vendors I’ve thoroughly vetted (often, I’ve worked with them previously) and whose prior work matches the wedding design vision you’ve expressed. For example, several years ago, LPE designed a wedding for a couple whose “thing” was lobsters. The groom flew in lobster from the East Coast for their first date (Friends, anyone?!), and the rest was history. They shared this with me early in the wedding design process, and I was able to incorporate subtle, elegant references to this aspect of their love story throughout their wedding day. Their stationery graphics included small, hidden lobsters, and their cocktail napkins featured embossed lobsters alongside their wedding monogram.
Another couple, Abbey and Jamie, met playing online chess. So, I incorporated chess pieces into their flatlay photos on their wedding day. I also suggested naming the guest tables at their reception after chess pieces! These were perfect ways to ensure the couple’s wedding design spoke to their story without being “in your face.”

I’ll look through your inspiration and discuss your questionnaire answers before compiling all the information I’ve gathered into a 25-35 page document: your custom design proposal! This proposal will allow you to visualize your day and make any amendments to the design you’d like before I share it with your vendors.
This streamlined proposal will be your design-based vendors’ most advantageous means of understanding and executing your wedding vision. Moreover, it will ensure all your vendors’ work coheres into one coordinated design since everyone will use the same source to inform their creative process.
