MY 6 FAVOURITE NIAGARA WEDDING VENUES

As a Niagara and Toronto-based wedding planner, I’ve been privileged to work at many extraordinary Niagara wedding venues. However, these six stand out as my favourites! There are so many exciting places to say “I do” in the Niagara region, whether you prefer to celebrate tucked away in the countryside or amid the bustle of downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake. Join me to explore what makes these venues stand out and find the perfect fit for your special day.

Queenston Mile Vineyard

Queenston Mile Vineyard offers an intimate setting perfect for small to midsize weddings. It’s a modern estate winery with industrial-chic flair! Picture reclaimed wood details, exposed steel beams, and moody black accents. One side note of this wedding venue is a comparatively short set-up timeline for set up and vendor access. If you book Queenston Mile Vineyard, I advise booking LPE’s full-service wedding planning package. That way, you can enjoy an stress-free day knowing a professional has handled all the logistics. I’ll ensure your vision comes to life despite the time constraint!

Kurtz Orchards/Gracewood Estate

This Niagara-on-the-Lake wedding venue is outstanding, and I’ve been fortunate to work there frequently! Kurtz Orchards and Gracewood Estate are part of the same wedding venue but are two distinct properties. At Kurtz Orchards, you can hold your wedding inside the beautiful Marketplace, a rustic space with wood-panelled walls, exposed beams, and a touch of elegance from crystal chandeliers. However, if you prefer an outdoor wedding, there is plenty of space to host a tented event or al fresco soiree in the vineyard.

Meanwhile, the beautiful and historic Gracewood Estate occupies the adjacent property. Surrounded by lush orchards and flower gardens, it’s one of Niagara’s top outdoor wedding venues! The estate house is included with your rental and is the perfect place to stay overnight with your wedding party and get ready in the morning. After your ceremony, you can serve dinner al fresco underneath the cherry trees, like Vanessa and Corey, or sheltered beneath an elegant tent. Since the space is exclusively yours with your rental, you can either plan for a tented event or rent a tent as your “plan B” in case of rain.

124 on Queen/The Gate House

For couples who prefer the downtown bustle and historic charm of Niagara-on-the-Lake to a rural setting, there’s 124 on Queen and The Gate House. Many of my destination wedding clients gravitate to this venue because of its central location. It's the perfect jumping-off point for touring the surrounding vineyards during your stay! 124 on Queen is an elegant, upscale hotel with modern décor; its contemporary aura sets it apart from other accommodations in the area, which tend to have an old-school feel.

The Gate House is 124 on Queen’s onsite wedding venue. With a luminous white interior and floor-to-ceiling windows, it’s the perfect blank canvas for bringing your wedding vision to life (with the help of LPE, of course!). The venue is best suited to an intimate or midsize wedding and can accommodate up to 140 guests. Moreover, it’s part of the Treadwell Cuisine portfolio, so the catering is always delicious! If you envision a wedding weekend with a welcome dinner and morning-after brunch in addition to the festivities on the big day, The Gate House is your one-stop shop.

Inn on the Twenty/Cave Spring Vineyard

Inn on the Twenty is part of the Vintage Hotels portfolio based in Ontario’s wine country. You can spend the morning of your wedding unwinding in one of the luxurious suites. Then, it’s just a quick ten-minute drive to Cave Spring Vineyard to exchange your vows.

This beautiful barn venue is one-of-a-kind! The whitewashed walls and ceiling give the space a quaint, rustic atmosphere. However, it also features several modern touches you can enhance with your décor, including the steel door that retracts to reveal stunning vineyard views. Abbey and Jamie’s wedding is an excellent example of what we can accomplish at this venue!

Vintage Hotels owns several other outstanding properties I recommend for your Niagara wedding. Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery is an excellent option in a rural setting where you can wed overlooking a tranquil pond. I also highly recommend The Barn at Pillar and Post if you prefer to celebrate indoors. The structure draws inspiration from the region’s historic barns with its traditional post and beam construction but still admits plenty of natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows.

Martin Estates

Perched on the shore of Lake Ontario in Beamsville, Martin Estates is your ticket to a wedding that exudes quiet luxury. This venue is brand new, and I look forward to working on the property for the first time in 2024! The estate’s 40’x60’ tent overlooks the picturesque vineyard and is the ideal setting for an outdoor wedding in Ontario’s wine country. Since the tent is virtually a blank canvas, this venue has many possibilities to make it your own. LPE can help you elevate this beautiful space into an inviting, personalized design that tells your love story!

Château des Charmes

Château des Charmes is another top Niagara event venue for couples envisioning a vineyard wedding. The estate house, modelled after a traditional French château, will wow your guests! Manilynn and Marco, whose wedding video is linked below, hosted their moody October nuptials inside the château. However, this venue can also accommodate outdoor events in the expansive vineyard. Picture a modern, whimsical wedding sheltered under a large frame tent with clear sides, providing a view of the picturesque rolling fields.

Do you feel drawn to one of these Niagara wedding venues? I would love to help you orchestrate an unforgettable celebration that enhances the beauty of your venue and the unique facets of your love story. Whether you’re local to Ontario or dreaming of a destination wedding in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake, I want to serve you. To get started, submit an inquiry with the details of your day. I can’t wait to hear about the event you’re envisioning!
